Post from concern netizen:
The Filipino toxic mindset needs to stop
When a private sexual video is accidentally or wrongfully shared, why is the first reaction of some people to ask for the link, save it, download it, and share it further instead of reporting it and protecting the people involved?
I’m attaching a comment under a photo of a couple whose intimate video was being circulated. Look at the people asking for the link. Behind those accounts are real people with families, loved ones, and lives beyond what you see online. They may be fathers, brothers, sons, and people who have mothers and sisters at home.
Before you ask for that link, ask yourself: Would you want your daughter to be treated this way? Would you want your sister, mother, or partner to have her most private moment passed around for strangers’ entertainment?
A sexual video being available online does not make it public property. Sharing or requesting intimate content without the people’s consent is not harmless curiosity. It contributes to the humiliation, violation, and trauma of real people.
We can choose to stop the cycle. Don’t ask for the link. Don’t download it. Don’t forward it. Report it.
And to the girl involved: We may not be close, and I may not know you personally, but I feel you. I can only imagine how painful, humiliating, and overwhelming it must feel to have something so private exposed and turned into entertainment by strangers. Please remember that what happened does not define your worth. You deserve privacy, dignity, and respect.
If we claim to value women, respect families, and have morals, then let’s prove it when nobody is forcing us to.
Is this how you would want your daughter to be treated?
