Minglanilla, Cebu is named as Sugat Capital in Cebu. Minglanilla celebrates Sugat-Kabanhawan Festival annually during Easter Sunday. Over 100,000 people attends Sugat-Kabanhawan Festival coming from different places in Cebu and Philippines according to officials.
At Easter Sunday's dawn, Minglanilla will have SUGAT presentation that includes re-enactment of Crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his Resurrection. There's also a stage play that tackles problems that tests human's faith.
After SUGAT Presentation, there are lots of activities in their sports complex (Carabao racing, Easter egg hunt and more). You can also find different side-walk vendors and tents that offers t-shirt printing and souvenirs, street foods and toys.
On Easter Sunday's afternoon, there is street dancing and ritual showdown competition coming from different schools in Minglanilla, Cebu. Their dance competition is more likely similar to Sinulog Festival and their costumes are also colourful with different props.
